Conveyor Chain - Product Overview
Korea Ever-Power conveyor chains form the largest and most diverse product group in the EP chain range, spanning simple double pitch conveyor chains for light assembly line work through to massive forged link chains for quarry conveyors and cement plant kilns. The range covers every principal chain type used in conveying applications: small pitch roller chain with attachments, double pitch roller conveyor chain (C-series), large pitch conveyor chain (M-series), hollow pin conveyor chain (HP series), free-flow conveyor chain (FV/FVT series), sharp top chain, slat chain, and specialty chains for food, automotive, parking, and timber industry applications.
Unlike driving chains, which transfer torque between two sprockets, conveyor chains transport a load along a path. This distinction has major engineering consequences: conveyor chains typically run at low speed but carry high loads distributed across their entire running length; the chain may travel for hundreds of metres and negotiate horizontal curves, vertical bends, and elevation changes in the same circuit; and the chain must interface with chain guides, wear strips, buckets, slats, flights, or product-carrying pallets. The EP conveyor chain range is designed with these conveying-specific requirements in mind, with larger pin-to-bush clearances for contamination tolerance, tighter pitch tolerances for smooth guide running, and a comprehensive attachment catalogue.
All EP conveyor chains are manufactured to ISO 1977 (metric large pitch roller chains) or ANSI B29.2 (double pitch roller chains) dimensional standards as applicable to the series. Attachment types follow ISO 1977 designation (A1, A2, K1, K2, G1, G4, D1, D2). Carbon steel, heat-treated alloy steel, and stainless steel variants are available across all major series. EP stocks all common series in standard 10-metre coils and can also supply cut-to-length chains with fitted end connections for direct installation.

Double Pitch Conveyor Chains (C Series)
Double pitch chains use the same roller diameter and inner width as the standard short pitch equivalent but with pitch doubled. This halves the number of links per metre and reduces chain cost for the same working load on low-speed conveyors. Standard: ANSI B29.2. C2040 corresponds to ANSI 40 roller chain pitch (12.7 mm) doubled to 25.4 mm.

Specialty Conveyor Chain Series
EP-HP Hollow Pin Conveyor Chains
The pin bore is hollow throughout its length, allowing steel rods or cross bars to pass through the pin axis. This enables buckets, flight bars, slats, or side guards to be mounted at any pitch without welding or drilling the chain plates. Used extensively in bucket elevator chains, bottling line guide bar installations, and packaging machine cross-bar conveyors.
Pitch: 25.4 mm to 76.2 mm. Carbon steel and SUS304 available. Bore diameter from 6 mm to 32 mm depending on chain size.
EP-FV / EP-FVT Free-Flow Chains
Free-flow chains carry outboard rollers on extended link plates that support pallets or carriers on guide rails independently of the chain tension. The pallet can accumulate against a stop while the chain continues to run beneath it - this "free flow" or "accumulation" function is the standard method for automotive engine and body assembly line conveying, where workpieces must stop at each assembly station without halting the conveyor.
EP-FV: flat outer roller. EP-FVT: wider outboard roller for heavier pallet support loads. Pitch 38.1 to 152.4 mm.
EP-MT Flat Top Chains
A flat steel or stainless plate is welded to the outer link, covering the roller and providing a continuous flat surface for direct product contact. Products slide or sit on the flat top surface rather than on a belt. Flat top chains are used in food conveying, tobacco manufacturing, printing press feed, and glass bottle conveying. Hinge type flat top chains with articulated slats allow horizontal curve operation.
Pitch 38.1 to 76.2 mm. Plate width 38 mm to 300 mm. Stainless steel option for food contact.
EP Sharp Top Chains
The outer link plate has a pointed raised profile running across the width of the chain, providing a gripping tooth that digs into soft materials on inclined conveyors. Used in sawmill timber sorting lines to prevent logs from rolling back on steep inclinations, and in aggregate quarries to move loose stone on steep-angle conveyors that would cause smooth-plate chain to slip.
Pitch 25.4 mm to 50.8 mm. High-carbon hardened plate for wear resistance against abrasive materials.
EP Escalator Step Chains
Precision conveyor chains for passenger escalators and moving walkways, manufactured to EN 115 (European) and ASME A17.1 (American) standards. EP escalator chains feature precision-ground pins, case-hardened bushes, and tight pitch tolerances to maintain step alignment and smooth passenger transition at landings. Step attachment holes are drilled and reamed to OEM specifications for major escalator brands.
Pitch 133.33 mm and 146.05 mm. Available for Otis, Schindler, Kone, ThyssenKrupp, and other major brands.
EP Mechanical Parking Chains
Forged alloy steel chains for multi-storey mechanical car parking systems, where vehicles are transported on pallets that are moved laterally and vertically by chain-driven mechanisms. These chains must carry vehicle loads of up to 3,500 kg per pair of chains, operate reliably in outdoor environments, and resist fatigue at the very high number of loading cycles typical of a busy car park.
Pitch 76.2 mm to 152.4 mm. Forged carbon steel with heat treatment to ensure hardness and toughness. Working load factor 6:1 minimum.
Applications
Bulk Material Handling
Cement clinker conveyors (EP-M56 to EP-M160), coal mine face conveyors and stage loaders (EP-M80 with special coalite plates), quarry stone conveyors (EP-M40 with sharp top plates), sand and gravel aggregate plants, and grain elevator bucket chains (EP-C2060H and EP-C2080H with A1 bucket attachments). The M series heavy pitch range is sized for the extreme loads in these applications, with cast barrel rollers available for highly abrasive materials where rolled steel rollers wear prematurely.
Automotive Assembly
EP-FV and EP-FVT free-flow chains for engine assembly lines, body-in-white lines, and final assembly floor conveyors. The accumulation function allows vehicles to stop at each workstation while the chain circulates continuously beneath the carrier pallet. Typical pitch in automotive assembly lines is 76.2 mm or 101.6 mm, running at 0.1 to 0.3 m/s. EP can supply matched rail systems and pallet components for complete assembly line installations.
Food and Beverage Processing
EP-MT flat top chains in stainless steel for meat, poultry, fish, fruit, and vegetable processing lines where a smooth, washable surface is required. EP-HP hollow pin chains with stainless cross bars for bottle conveying. EP-C2060 and EP-C2080 double pitch chains with A1 bucket attachments for fruit and vegetable elevators. All food contact chains are available with NSF H1 lubricant at factory and with stainless connecting hardware.
Cement and Process Plant
EP-M80 and EP-M112 chains for clinker pan conveyors that operate at temperatures up to 700 degrees C. EP M-series drag chain for cement mill inlet clinker conveying. Slat chain conveyors for raw meal and clinker handling at intermediate plant sections. For high-temperature kiln chain curtain applications, EP supplies alloy steel chains with ceramic heat shields on request. Chain life in these applications is measured by elongation over an annual maintenance cycle.
